Arthur H. Harris collection, 1931-1970.

Consists chiefly of photocopies of typescripts of some of the personal papers of R. M. Burnet, curator of the Archeological and Historical Society Museum in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Materials include a typed manuscript written by Burnet titled "Cave Bear or Saber Tooth Tiger?" This article deals with Burnet's search of Carter's Cave, located approximately 20 miles southwest of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and of some of the bone deposits that he found there around 1931. Typed copies of some of Burnet's correspondence with a few of his contemporaries in the fields of archeology and paleontology, notably Edgar B. Howard, are also included. The collection includes an article reprint by Arthur H. Harris titled "The Dry Cave Mammalian Fauna and Late Pluvial Conditions in Southeastern New Mexico."
